INSPIRE WFS 2.0.0 Download Service of the Romanian Stations Dataset and their Main Meteorological ObservationsThe INSPIRE Download Service of the dataset entitled ”Romanian Stations Dataset and their Main Meteorological Observations” provides direct access to the dataset trough a WFS 2.0 service.
The WFS 2.0 download service provides direct access to the meteorological networks (ef:EnvironmentalMonitorinNetwork) used for meteorological products, as well as to the meteorological and pluviometric stations (ef:EnvironmentalMonitoringStation) and to the observations that are made by these networks and the sensors of the stations.
All meteorological stations within the dataset are the official Romanian meteorological stations and are registered in the World Meteorological Organization Integrated Global Observing System (WIGOS).
Synoptic and climatic meteorological observations are provided at the level of the sensor of the meteorological station, while meteorological products in TIFF, NetCDF, BUFR or GRIB2 format are provided at network level.
Stored queries are implemented in this WFS service in order to provide access to data trough short-URLs.

- https://inspire.meteoromania.ro/data/M402.nc - Example of short-URL to the M402 meteorological product (Snow Depth) provided in NetCDF format. Similar short-URLs exist for all meteorological products provided as files: M910.tif, M920.tif, M501.tif, M502.tif, M301.bufr, M401.nc, M403.nc, M650.nc. M502 and M503 products are updated yearly. M910 and M920 that are updated every 10 days during the periods of sowing of maize and winter wheat.

The download service was created within the 2019-2020 INSPIRE Project implemented by Essensys Software SRL (Romania) and Wetransform GmbH (Germany) in order to fulfill the legal obligations of the National Meteorological Administration of Romania according to INSPIRE Directive. The scope of the project to create an INSPIRE fully compliant dataset and services was achieved:
- Conformance class 4 is ensured for the metadata of this network service.
- The WFS is passing the "Conformance Class: Download Service - Pre-defined WFS"

The following monitoring networks exist in this feature type:
- N101 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Essential Meteorological Stations used for the Synoptic and Climatic data. There are 23 essential monitoring stations in this network. Synoptic data is composed of: total precipitations, relative humidity, temperature, wind speed and direction that are provided every 6 hours. Climatic data is composed of: daily total precipitations and the daily minimum, maximum and average temperature, that are computed from synoptic data and archived from 1961 till present.
- N301 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Aerological Stations used for acquiring data from troposphere and stratosphere by using balloons: The temperature, dew-point temperature, wind direction and wind speed along a trajectory of an air balloon launched daily.
- N401 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological and Pluviometric Stations used for acquiring precipitation data: Gridded data with daily 24 hours accumulated precipitations
- N402 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used for acquiring snow data: Gridded data with snow depth
- N403 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used for acquiring snow equivalent in water data: Gridded data with snow water equivalent
- N501 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used for acquiring solar radiance data: Gridded data with annual global solar radiation as an average from past 10 years
- N502 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used for acquiring wind data: Gridded data with the average wind speed over past 10 years
- N650 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used as input within the WRF forecast model: Gridded data with forecast temperature, relative humidity, v-component of wind, u-component of wind and total precipitation using WRF numerical model
- N900 Romanian Environmental Monitoring Network of Meteorological Stations used for acquiring available water capacity for crops data: Gridded data with available water capacity for winter wheat and maize crops
